Short answer
In Germany short-stay visa applications the core documents are the same for most purposes: a signed application form, passport, biometric photo, travel health insurance, financial documents, proof of accommodation and travel, and the civil-registry extract. On top of these come add-ons by your profile (employee, company owner, student, minor) and by your purpose (tourism, business, visit). - Previous visa copies and civil registryCopies of the last 10 years' visas + passport copy; full civil-registry extract (Tam Tekmil Vukuatlı Nüfus Kayıt Örneği) from e-Devlet with barcode.

- Proof of travel and accommodationRound-trip reservation/travel plan; a hotel booking or other proof of accommodation.

- Travel health insuranceOriginal policy valid across the whole Schengen area with at least 30,000 EUR cover.

- Financial documentsLast 3 months of account statements and payslips; pension statements where applicable.

Which documents are common to every application?
A signed form, passport, biometric photo, travel health insurance, proof of travel and accommodation, financial documents and the civil-registry extract are common to most short-stay purposes. Purpose-specific add-ons come on top of these.
What conditions must my passport meet?
It must have at least 2 blank pages, have been issued within the last 10 years, and be valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned return.
